Ok, just one more update on the map. Here's what it's looking like so far. I'm so impressed with it I just had to share. It's still not done, but I think it's going to look "damned" hot when it is. :)
Codex Update: Issues and progress

Hi everyone, I hope all is well with you.
Just an update on the progress of the project. I've been running into issues with artists, and that's been slowing down development. The writing is coming along great, however, and I think you'll love the content.
I'll be ordering dice and bennies soon, and need to finalize the layout on the cards, but since those are physical items, that won't affect anything.
Right now I'm still anticipating getting you the PDF and sending everything to the printer in late January, so even though there have been issues, things are pretty much on schedule.
I hope everyone has a great holiday season!

Hi everyone. I hope all is well with you?
Things are going pretty smoothly on Codex Infernus! I've been getting some good art in, and good words down. I expect to be able to share the front image for the GM screen with you some time towards the end of the week/early next week.
We're getting some really good concepts down for the archetypes you'll see, along with some setting rules, and one system I want to discuss now; Possession.
In most games, the only time you'll need to deal with this, is if you're trying to exorcise a demon from an NPC. Some of the coolest stories can involve an "exorcist" type of situation. But what if your characters were under some form of psychic attack from a demon? Maybe they read the wrong book, or came into possession of a strange artifact? How does she resist possession, and perhaps more importantly, what happens if your character succumbs?
Resisting possession is as simple as a Spirit roll, modified by any wound penalties, against a difficulty based on the type of demon. This difficulty is the Possession rating (working name), and all demons have one. I'm basing the difficulty on certain base types of demons: Lesser demons, greater demons, and full-fledged demon lords.
Lesser demons have a rating of 4. Greater demons have a rating of 6, and Demon Lords, a rating of 8. Some edges and magic items will help characters resist possession will be detailed in the approprate sections of the book.
So, what happens if you fail the spirit roll?
You gain a "possessed template," which provides attribute changes, and possibly even powers, but you are under control of the demon as if she had cast the puppet power on you. The main difference, is a Spirit roll doesn't break the puppet power, but you can temporarily take control of your character by making a successful Spirit roll.
Characters who have been possessed must be exorcised. The horror companion has the Banish Entity power, which works perfectly for this. I'll see about getting permission to include it in the book, because I really don't want to reinvent the wheel here.
